Mary is a boy!

Ej and I were introduced to a son yesterday via ultrasound! We attended the ultrasound late afternoon and Ej made faces at me to help me relax. I was nervous. There's nothing like applying pressure to an already sensitive region of body in the name of science. I endured an hour and a half of pressure from 'the wand' to check heart chamber growth, look for abnormalities in developement, etc. So far, the measurements are correlating with 19 weeks and there will be no change in the due date. Results are presented to us today.

The money shot confirmed maleness. So, Tim, get cracking on some names! It seems this is both Geoff's and Doug's first biological grandchild. Top name for me is a family name: Arlen... my father's middle name... work that in and we may have a deal..

Happy Birthday, Jackie

How about a kick from the little one on your birthday, yesterday! My very first kick felt with my hand last night as I lay in bed!!

Yesterday was Jackie's birthday. We talked that morning over a few items, including the blog writings. Little did I know I would be calling her today to share with her the news of the first kick on her birthday! What a special moment!

Also, I have a few hand me downs from another mom that I have started to store. I have a bassinet, a few toys, videos, clothing items, a hiking back pack, receiving blankets and tye dye burp rags. I do plan to be a bit of a minimalist and everything I received will be completely useful. Thank you, Kim!
