Whooping Cough

Timothy is being treated for Whooping Cough with antibiotics, however this is his second dose and he had a coughing fit last night that lasted over twenty minutes. He threw up four times, mostly phlegm. I'm calling the advice nurse to see at what point he needs to be admitted to the hospital. He seemed to have been getting better. Yesterday, he turned a bit and I am not sure if he is passing it to me and I'm passing it back, or not.

I will be scheduling a follow up appointment to see if his lungs have cleared out. The pnuemonia may not be resolved.

The pnuemonia is a complication of the Whooping Cough. Luckily, with all of his coughing fits, we have been proactive to get him to breathe again.

I would say this is a very serious issue and I'm monitoring him closely to see if he needs to go to the hospital again.
